Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that can develop in individuals who have experienced a traumatic event. Flashbacks involve vivid and distressing re-experiences of the traumatic event, often making individuals feel as if they are reliving it. Severe anxiety, hypervigilance, and a heightened startle response are common, leading to an overall sense of emotional distress. Additionally, emotional numbness or avoidance of reminders of the trauma may occur as a way of coping.
